Issue 6, TfD3: Big Trouble in Little Tibet

Two hours had flown by since the arrival of Emma and Scott at Club Mu. While they were out, the mansion was busy with the workings of many things. Logan and Jean were meeting with Beast, Colossus was exploring his artistic side with Jubilee and Paige, Kitty and Sam were getting to know each other outdoors, Iceman and Angel were preparing for their trip to Tibet, and Rogue was running around the mansion in a desperate search to find Gambit.


Emma sat at the bar with Scott sipping on her vodka tonic. She idly sloshed the ice around in the glass and looked at him from over the rim. “Scott dear, what is really going on inside of that head of yours? I would take a look for myself, but I am trying to respect you here.” She said setting down the glass and cocking her head to the side.

Kitty led Sam around the mansion and down past the basketball courts. She plopped down on the bench and patted the spot next to her, signaling Sam to come sit. She admired his good looks, she thought he was cute from the first moment she laid eyes on him. “So, tell me about yourself, Sam.” She prompted, hoping he would bite.

Rogue walked down the corridor to where Gambits room was located. She knocked on his door lightly and called out for him. She waited but heard no answer. She pounded again, “Hey, you ole swamp rat, if yer in there, ya better answer me!” she called out. She listened closely again, not a peep. Her mind began to race, where the hell had he gone. She couldn’t find him anywhere. She checked the kitchen, the common room, the library even. She ran out the front entrance deciding to check the grounds for him, maybe he had gone out for some fresh air.

"I have to tell you Hank, after a nice mini-vacation I am kind of itching for a fight. What's on the plate this time? It can't be too serious, I mean after all we are taking Feathers with us, you get the short string again and have to baby sitting duty?"

Logan asked as he finished donning the last of his gear in the Mansions ready room. Logan was eager to board the jet cause the sooner they took off the sooner they could land and get into action. Though he hadn't said it the only person he really concerned about accompanying them on the mission was Jean. He gave no outward signs of it but he was elated by the fact that he could offer a bit of respite from the sense of heaviness that seemed to be floating around the mansion these days.

Mansion grounds
After hanks briefing Warren headed for his room and prepared for China. After packing he went outside so he could take flight and avoid Logan. An indescribable feeling of freedom came over him one again as he began to sore thru the air, he briefly closed his eyes and enjoyed the cool wind on his face, opening them again he noticed Kitty and Sam below, “Hello” he said to the new comer with a friendly wave, then began to loop and turn in the air showing of his talents.

Kitchen
It took Bobby more or less only minutes to pack for China so he decided to get a start on grading his students assignments, he finished grading them all after nearly two hours and it didn’t take him long to fined something more fun to do. He went to the empty kitchen and placed a shocking beer can that he had previously bought right at the back of the fridge, “This should be a hoot! He said to himself, “When the can is lifted off the ground, the trigger mechanism releases a jolt of electricity up the persons arm, hee, hee, I can wait to see their face when it happens”

“So, tell me about yourself, Sam,” Kitty said as Sam took his seat beside her. He gave her a warm smile as he though about what he wanted to say. Kitty was cute, she wasn’t as blatantly stunning as Miss Frost was, but she was definitely easy on the eyes.

“Well aside from Paige, Ah got seven more brothers and sisters. Ah’m the oldest though. Ah was livin’ in
Cumberland, Kentucky before Ah came out here. Mah favorite color is brown ‘cus it’s the color of the earth. Ah like all kinds of music, cept for rap. And Cornbread is mah favorite thing to eat, nothin’ better then a warm piece a cornbread with a big ol’ slab a butter on top!” Sam explained, rubbing his belly.

“How ‘bout yourself?” he asked with a charming smile.

Kitty grinned admiring his warm smile, "Well...I am from Illinois, I like to shop and go to the mall, I'm Jewish, and I can phase through walls and stuff. It was pretty scary the first time it happened actually...I was sleeping and then I woke up on the bottom floor of my house!" She babbled on and then she heard Warren calling down to them and showing off. She rolled her eyes and leaned closer to Sam, "That one up there, is quite the show off." she muttered, as she absently waved to him. She was annoyed he was interrupting her alone time with Sam, the cute boy with the southern drawl.

Sam chuckled at Kitty's comment and looked up to see the flying man.

"Howdy," he said, waving his hand. He was impressed by how easily the man controlled his flight patterns, that was something Sam had some difficulty with. He turned his attention back to Kitty.

"So you can walk through walls huh? That's mighty useful. Ah go through walls too, but Ah usually smash through them head first," Sam said tapping his head. "Ah ain't too great at stoppin' yet, but Ah can sorta fly like your friend there," Sam explained. Even he didn't really understand his powers yet, so it was hard to explain to someone else.

"Ah'm the lucky one though. Paige has to rip off her skin for her powers," Sam said offhandedly.

(Dr. Ramsey is asleep in his office, next to a mug of coffee)

Jubilee twitched on the stool, then broke her pose to look at Paige. "Petey's a great artist. He was painting this landscape last week, and I was like, oh em gee! Paint me! So here we are." She was talking with her hands at this point, forgetting that she ought to hold still.

"Logan," Said Nightcrawler from the ceiling, "Mein Freund, you missed ze main briefing! Ve are going to find Sentinels! Save ze whole planet, get ze girl, commemorative T-shirts..." He thoughtfully stroked his fuzzy blue chin, grinning a fangy grin.

Cyclops leaned forward on his hand, running his fingers through his hair. Looking down at his Screwdriver through his sunglasses, and not at Emma, he pulled a small sip through the stirring straw.

"Thanks, Emma. You might be the only telepath left at school who respects my psychic boundaries." He took a deep breath and stood up. "Come on, I want to see the rest of this club, maybe find a more comfotable place to sit. This could take a while."

He led Emma by the arm deeper into the club, through the dance floor, over to a nice sofa in the corner slightly away from the speakers and all the people. He sat down, putting his boots on the low table. "It's Jean."

"Vill you hold still please? I don't mean to be rude, but i can not capture your true beauty on my canvas if you keep moving like that. You can talk, but try not to move so much." Piotr said alittle disgruntled. "And thanks for de compliment."

[Logan, Nick Fury]

Logan glanced up at Kurt and chuckled at his words before taking a cigar out of his locker and popping the end into his mouth. "Get the girl?" Logan thought to himself, "...well I already managed to get her to come along the mission with us." He couldn't help but smile as he leaned back against the row of lockers and passed his fingers threw her hair.

"Sentinels aye?"

He scoffed softly and extended the claws in his right then left hand, examining them for any flaws.

"Yea, its about time I got to scrap'n... all this lolly-gagging gots my bones aching. So when we lift off?"

Paige giggled at Jubilee and "Petey's" banter, wondering what the artist's real name was. She smiled shyly at the big man, brushing back a lock of hair, but when he caught her staring at him, she quickly turned away.

"So, uh, Jubilee. How are the classes 'round here," Paige asked, her face tinted red. She was actually interested in the course work here at Xavier's. She firmly believed that an education was the key to success and she took her school work seriously.

Mansion Grounds
Warren could see that Kitty was not too thrilled with him interrupting her talk with the newcomer, he decided to leave them to their talk and ascended until he was out of sight, “I can meet him properly later” he thought to himself as he admired the landscape from the unique view point

[Piotr]

After having nearly the entire painting finished, Piotr carefully lifted the painting from the canvas and turned it around so that Paige and Jubilee could see his work.

"Vhat do you think so far ladies? I am nearly finished." Piotr said with a hint of pride in his work.

The painting consisted of Jubilee at night, laying down at an angle upon a hill staring at the night sky. Piotr had expertly painted the moonlight shining down on her perfectly, showing her with almost a divine glow. The moon was clearly visible, with varying arrays of star constellations with a few additional shooting stars. Only a few details remained to be completed.

Kitty looked at Sam shocked, "Whoooa, hold up there, she...she rips her skin off? I mean, like...what is her power?" she asked, completely in awe of this fact. She scooted a little closer to him, anxious to hear about his sisters powers, she rested her elbow on her knee and set her chin in her hand gazing at him intently.

Emma's heart jumped as Scott lightly held onto her arm guiding her to a more secluded part of the club. She slid onto the couch next to him her eyes running up his muscular body to his face. Jeans name fell from his perfect lips and she let out a sigh. Of course she knew it would come to this, it always led back to her.

"Well...talk to Auntie Emma about it, Scott dear." she prompted, crossing her legs and leaning back, her blue eyes locked on his face.

Havok pulled up to the mansion where his brother lead the x-men. He pushed the call button, informing them of who he was. The gate opened up and he drove his over the top SUV in. He parked and went in through the front entrance. He looked over at Maggot. "Hey there, so tell me, where is my fearless leader of a brother? I have some business to discuss with him."

Maggot looked at him oddly, "He is out, you can just wait around until he comes back." he said looking at his hands idly.

Havok snorted, "Well okay then." He started walking around, it had been a while since he had been to the mansion. He passed the kitchen and saw Iceman giggling like a school boy. "What is up with you?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

DING DONG!

The doorbell of the mansion seemed obnoxiously loud to Vivien. Probably because she happened to be the only person passing nearby and she still felt like a stranger at this ridiculous mansion.

Viv paused for a moment, shrugged, and then opened the door.

Standing on the doorstep was a timid-looking young man. His shoulders were hunched awkwardly and even he turned his face in an attempt to shield an odd facial deformity it was clear he was of Asian descent. "Uuuuuu, th-th-the n-n-n-news ssssssaid that puh-puh-ppppeople---I-I mean Mu-mu-mutants can buh-buh-be ssssssafe here." The young man flushed bright red as he struggled through his difficult speech.

Vivien flushed too. The poor man was pitiful.

"You must be one of the ones rescued from China..."

The young man looked up and gave her a puzzling glance, but suddenly seemed to remember his grotesque appearance and hastily looked back down.

Vivien realized she was staring and hastily stepped back, pulling the door open wider. "You should probably come in..."

The young man stumbled inside, still attempting to hide his face.

For a moment, Vivien stood awkwardly in the foyer with the deformed Asian mutant.

Pah! Always more...

Gambit had just been walking by the foyer as Vivien let the deformed Asian man in. He was never the type to get involved in other people's business (especially in his current black mood), but Vivien gave him a desperate look as he passed by.

Jubilee gasped and her eyes got wide as she just stared at the painting. "Wowwww.... are you going to put the fireworks in the background like I asked for?" She asked sweetly, batting her eyes and smiling. She snapped out of her reverie with the painting and struck her pose again, glancing at Paige out of the corner of her eye.

"we have pretty advanced classes, if you want to take them or challenge yourself, but we've also got run-of-the-mill classes for subject you maybe aren't good in, or like, don't care about it. Oh, and we do a lot of physical training."

Cyclops finished his drink and waved down a teenaged waitress for a refill. "It's like I can feel us drifting apart. It started before you came back, but after she found out about what we did back when she was possessed by the Phoenix."

He paused and took his drink, stirring it, deep in thought. "By the time I realized I was pushing Jean away, and felt guilty about it, I think it was too late. I tried engaging her, and nowadays she's so distant. She doesn't let me in anymore like she used to." Scott stared off at nothing, letting this finally-vocalized thought marinate about him.
