Xavier's School For The Gifted
Xavier glided through the halls, either swerving around some of the students or acknowledging their courtesy, should they move aside, with a nod.
From behind, a high voice called out, "Professor!" He slowed his chair, turning his head to see green-haired Olivia Barnes quick-stepping to see him. "Olivia." She looked at him with the beseeching look that only a teenager can do. "There's a special program at the Conservatory this afternoon. I only just heard about it. I'd really like to see it."
Xavier nodded, tamping down the urge to smile. Olivia, otherwise known as Dryad, had the ability to turn her skin to the hardest of wood. It was no surprise she was interested in seeing the latest botanical exhibit. He was only surprised it took so long. "If I recall correctly, you have a philosophy class next period."
Olivia just managed not to shuffle impatiently. "I have the work done. But, the car is leaving soon and I'll miss it if I don't go right now."
She dug into her bag, "Here's the paper that was due today." She held it out to him.
It was one of the precious things, to him, in this school; the earnestness of the young.
With a small smile to mitigate his mock-stern admonishment, he took the paper. "Very well." Olivia yipped happily. "However, I expect a research paper on the Hm1 gene and how it may apply to prevent blight."
Nodding happily, Olivia fairly jumped out the door. "Thanks, sir!" In a second, she was gone.
Xavier tucked the paper under his arm and continued down the hall.

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters Basketball Court
Gambit dribbled the basketball idly. The mid-morning sun gleamed on the bare skin of his muscular shoulders. He was shirtless, wearing only loose basketball shorts and hi-tops. He was not really paying attention to the basketball bouncing beneath his hand. He was reflecting on the wedding that had occurred just a few days earlier. He felt happy for Jean and Scott, they deserved that happiness--especially after all they'd been through. His happiness was bittersweet. Their wedding reminded him of things in his own past he'd rather forget. He pushed those thoughts away. A pained smirk ghosted across his features. If he was going to be honest with himself, he'd have to admit he also felt the tiniest bit of envy.

Rouge was sitting on a bench. Her head lolled back as she dozed off in the sun. Today had been a rather nice day for her. No close calls, no sudden attacks... it was almost too good to be true. Rogue's head came back up with an annoyed look. "If it seems to good, then it is too good..." she muttered. Then she snorted. She was just paranoid... yeah, paranoid. For good reason, but no reason she could enjoy a normal day... ok, maybe not -normal-, but at least a nice one. She nodded grimly. She was going to enjoy this day if she killed herself... which would -not- happen, because she would be enjoying it.
With that, she stood up, stretching slightly, and set off down the back, under trees that let bits of the sun shine through. She adjusted the gloves she wore, as she strolled through the grounds of the mansion.

((We have no shows, I've been trying to contact people. We might have to put the sim off a little while longer. I apologize, I know a lot of us were excited. Hope you'll still be interested. In the meantime, if you know anyone who'd be interested in joining, go ahead and invite them.))

((Ok, Slug. If you're game, we're going to keep going, just the three of us for the time being. I think if we keep going, we might attract some more interest from the others. Just for now, the three-day posting rule is suspended. You can post as often as you like, but please continue using the tags. If there is another canon character you want to play, let me know.))

Xavier's Mansion Path in the grounds
Rogue felt sleepy in the sun as she continued to walk down the path. It was nice to be without other people's company sometimes... peaceful. She took her gloves off, and flexed her fingers. She grabbed a rock, and held it in her palm, before letting it fall back down. She put the gloves back on as she continued to walk. Soon she was out of the secluded area, and heading back towards the mansion, and most of the stuff surrounding it. She continued to walk up the hill, going towards the basketball courts.

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters Basketball Courts
Finished with his somewhat unpleasant ruminations, he lifted the ball and made a 3-point shot. While retrieving the ball, a movement at the edge of the woods caught his eye. A deep smile came to his lips, involuntarily as he saw who had caught his eye. "Well g'mornin Cher!" His voice was warm with affection as he watched her walk up the hill.

Xavier finished his paperwork and glanced at the clock. Realizing it had been some time, he frowned a bit, wondering at Gambit's lack of response. He quested out a bit and realized he was simply very preoccupied. Weddings tended to do that to people.
Once more, he sent out a message, this time to the whole team. "If you have a moment, I'd like to meet with you in the conference room."
Setting the papers in the 'out' box, he glided over to the small elevator at the back of his office.

Rogue saw Gambit at the court and he greeted her. "Mornin'," she said, walking to where he was. She stopped when she heard something. She was pretty sure it was from Xavier. She couldn't stop herself from glancing around. "Well sugah," she said, partially addressing herself, as well as Gambit. "Ah'm guessing the professors wantin' to see us..." She looked back up at the mansion, wondering what it was.

Gambit was preoccupied and didn't immediately notice the attempt at intrusion into his psyche. He shrugged at the realization. He'd always seemed to have more protection than a lot of people against such intrusion. "Seems yo'r right, Cher" he replied in a suddenly subdued tone. His smile had vanished. Why did he always have to get interrupted? "Guess we better see wha's goin' on..."

Rogue nodded. This probably meant something went wrong... so much for a relaxing day, she thought, with hint of bitterness. She started back up the hill towards the mansion, watching Gambit out of the corner of her eye.
