Rogue clutched her throat, gasping for air, when suddenly the flow stopped, and she could breath again. She filled her lungs again and again, before calming her breathing enough. She looked over at Gambit, and blanched as she saw the gas beginning to fill his cell.

Strange Cell Somewhere Magneto cast his mind and powers out. He strained as he realized that the nearest metal is miles away. The heaviest concentration is about 60 miles. Erik made a face. "...there's no way that can be... unless..." He briefly entertained the possibility he was in interstellar space. He didn't entertain it for long, though. The fog was coming in lower. He knew he wouldn't be able to put up a field to protect him temporarily with magnetic fields that far out... There wasn't enough light to bend the electromagnetic spectrum to his will in here, either... Magneto was running out of options. He lay down on his back, breathing slowly and lightly, watching the gas float down from the holes in the ceiling. <tag anyone.>

OOC: Do you mean, whenever Erik, Gambit, ect. says anything we can here it, or just after they 'state their designations'?

Rogue heard another voice and looked around. It was familiar, but she couldn't really place it.
Paris
Jean sat up in bed suddenly. She had just had a rather rude awakening with a nasty realization"Something is wrong with Charles," she said, looking around.

<<lol short and to the point, but okay>> Hotel Room, Paris, France Scott looked over at his bride, wondering if it was a joke. Not today, nononono. This was supposed to be their day, not the X-Men's day. "Jean, honey, you sure?" He put his arm around her and turned to face her, straightening a stray strand (tongue twister) of hair behind his ear with his free hand. His brow was furrowed in concern, and worry. He really didn't want to have to save someone's hide today, he thought. Just one day, he begged, one day with Jean that isn't interrupted with saving someone or stopping someone from destroying something. <tag Jean>

Jean looked at Scott. "Very sure. It felt like he was screaming in pain, and there was indeed pain. Thats all though, pain, and then nothing." She sighed. She also had not wanted this. She was hoping for a nice quiet time in Paris.

ooc: Yes, any time one of you talks, the others can hear you.
IC Cell Bloc
The gas clouds floated lower, drifting onto the floor. Gambit and Eric have only seconds before they could no longer breathe.
The voices, entirely dispassionate, continue to wait for the proper response.
Each person can hear, from just beyond their cells, a slithering/shifting sound, as if someone was clumsily shuffling past their rooms.
********** Xavier X-Man Mansion
Charles settled into the chair, finally. A few small beads of sweat trickled down the side of his face. With years of building his upper body strength he was stronger than most. Still, he was feeling his years.
He slumped over, holding his head in his hands. He knew he needed to call for help. Scott? Jean? No, he absolutely refused to destroy their honeymoon. It wasn't, yet, that dire. They wouldn't forgive him.
He cast his mind out. Still nothing. He couldn't even sense the children above. That disturbed him more than anything.
Closing down the simulation, he saw that Gambit and Rogue were, indeed, gone. Considerably worried, he turned away. Activating the electronics of his chair, he turned to head swiftly to his office. There had to be someone he could call...

Gambit's grim expression hid his rising panic and inner turmoil. Revelation of his real name was not something he would forfeit at this point, better to die than open that Pandora's Box. Death would be so much easier than the anger of his fellow X-men and dealing with his own considerable guilt over events long buried. His face twisted into a disgusted expression and he used his last breaths to shout, "GO TO HELL!" and then collapsed as the green gas filled his lungs.

"GAMBIT!" Rogue yelled. Why the hell he wouldn't reveal his name, she did not know, but she didn't really care. All she was caring about now was that in a few seconds he was going to die.

Cell Bloc Magnus could hear screams in the distance, but it was like his captors were trying to play ambient noise through a cheaply-made speaker. The gas came down and started to filter into his nostrils, displacing his oxygen. Erik was starting to lose control, was starting to lose his calm. His eyes were wide as flashes of his childhood in war-scarred Europe filled his mind. All he could think of was those chambers, his family... Desperation took over him as the adrenaline pumped into his blood like a nitrous boost to a vehicle. He wasn't going to go out like this, not for a stupid reason. Magneto did not die in captivity. His captors would die, instead. "Lehnsser!! Erik Lehnsser!" He cried out, laying on the ground, coughing as the gas filled his lungs.
==================== Paris, France Scott's brow furrowed in concern and irritation. He knew Jean could sense it, so he didn't bother vocalizing. He stood up and paced the room in the nude, running his hands through his hair and weighing his options. "We should call the school and see who answers, see if Hank or Logan can find out what's going on," Scott finally said, and stopped pacing to face Jean. "I mean, it would be dumb to fly over there," he added, with the sinking feeling that they might have to anyway. <tag Jean>

As Magneto called out, his name resounded through the halls.
"Acceptable." "Confirmed."
The gas retreated back into the vents, allowing the man to breath normally within minutes.
A red light swept through Rogue's and Magneto's room. The voices, entirely dispassionate to Gambit's fate, cataloged their various mutant abilities, their strengths, their scope.
As Gambit fell to unconsciousness, the voices filled all the chambers.
"You wish that one to live?" "Is him important?" "What would you do to save him?"
A red dot was illuminated on both Rogue's and Magneto's room.
A single voice spoke, different from the others in its singularity, "Place your hand on the button. You will die, but he will be saved."
ooc: BTW, Bagels, the blue is really hard to read. It could be these old eyes...lol

Cell Bloc Magnus stood, thoroughly insulted. He could make out somebody in the cell down the hallway, and he looked vaguely familiar, like one of Xavier's sheep. The one standing had long red hair and a form-fitting green outfit. It had to be Rogue... He sneered and remembered the time she grabbed his flesh... He suppressed the memory. But who was the one laying down? All he could see was a brown blob from this distance through the strange translucent material that comprised his cell. Magnus knew one thing. He wasn't about to give his life for another, even if it was one of his mutant brethren. He was, in fact, quite insulted at this point, but knew he was in no position to make demands. He crossed his arms in silent defiance of the shiny button's call.

Gambit, collapsed on the floor is turning a peculiar shade of blue, the oxygen unable to get into his lungs.
In the hall, a shadowy figure could be seen shambling crookedly towards Gambit's room.
**************************** Xavier got to his office, desperately wondering what to do. Everything he was was in his mind and technology. Having his mind unable to perform telepathically, he couldn't even use Cerebro.
On the off-chance someone arrived at the mansion while he was unawares, he hit the school's intercom. "All senior staff...report to my office, immediately."
