The comm blinked insistently. Jean pressed the button and the Professor's voice cut through the cabin.
"I've located an area with a particularly high concentration of mutants. I'm sending the coordinates to the Blackbird computer right now."
Jean continued the descent while she brought up the high-detail map they'd been using earlier. The coordinates the Professor had sent flashed green. They were near the edge of the warehouse district. Jean circled wide around the city and brought the Blackbird down on an abandoned rooftop just a few blocks from the coordinates.

Motoko sighed with relief and got off the bus in Salem Center. She had been worried about the traffic, but it turned out there was an accident, and after they passed it most everything cleared up. She started to walk through the area, checking the directions she had gotten a while back to get to the school. She walked for 5 minutes or so, humming the theme from 'Bubblegum Crisis' to keep her busy. "Finally," she muttered, as she reached the estates. She looked around, before walking up to the gates. She hovered around them, and then rolled her eyes. "Neji ga... screw it," she said, before grabbing onto the bars of the gate. She scaled it, being careful not to let anything fall out of her bag, and vaulted over.
"Hmm..." she said, once she was over the gates. "I wonder if that wasn't the best idea..." She started walking up the drive to the mansion. She got to the doors. "I guess I should knock... I've done enough trespassing for one day." She ended up knocking on the doors with her foot - she wasn't sure if anyone would hear her if she didn't. She started running scenario's of things she probably should have done instead of vaulting over the fence in her mind to keep her from getting bored. Most of them ended up with her feeling like an idiot, and convinced her even more that her way might have not been so bad.

Shanghai, China Sabretooth lunged forward and grabbed the aging man by the collar of his labcoat, hoisting him into the Graven Image's chest. Even if he wanted the clay imitation to do anything now, it'd have to go through its master first, he thought with a manic grin. He inhaled hard through his nose, SNNUFFFFFFF!! Anesthesia, blood, saliva, shame, fear... It was all there. "I can smell your madness, Scientist..." He leaned in close, so the guy could smell his Dog Breath. "...and your fear. You're lying to me! I was thinking of toying with you a little longer, but I'm gettin' a little bored with this mouse..." <tag Dade> Meanwhile, above ground... Dr. Ramsey started to feel a little anxious about his first actual mission. Which is different from the School's mission statement, he thought with a silly little grin, aimed at the Drake boy. He voiced his fears. "Sorry, Ah'm new te this. Mrs. Summers, d'ye have a translater oop in yer noggin? So's tha' Ah kin talk like normal, boot everyone else hears Chinese?" He looked over at Gambit. He probably needs one, too, but doesn't care, he thought. <Tag everyone in blackbird> -EDIT-EDIT-EDIT-

Xavier's Mansion New York
Kitty Pride searched across the mansion. She was missing a book the professor had given her. The search began in a well ordered way of going from one room to the next and checking everywhere she might have put it, but shortly into the search it degenerated into a mad dash through walls and back through walls to rooms she'd been to, but felt sure she hadn't checked thoroughly enough. At one point Wolverine stopped and asked what she was missing. "The Catcher in the Rye," she said. "The Professor said it should come standard issue with every teenager."
"Can't sniff that out," Wolverine said. "Good luck." Kitty was near the entrance of the mansion and she heard a kick or a knock. She wasn't sure. Without thinking she phased her head through the front door, but then yanked it back through. "Wolverine! Professor! ... Anyone!? There's a Japanese woman with a sword at the door!"

Jean carefully arranged her face before turning to Dr. Ramsey, "Actually, I don't know Chinese either...and uh, that's not how it works...telepathy." Such an odd question coming from someone who's a doctor and studies mutants....maybe he meant it as a joke. "This is reconnaissance anyways,we'll mostly likely keep to ourselves, if we need to go out in public, we can pose as tourists..."
"Gambit don't need a translator, he speak the universal language...." Gambit winked at Dr. Ramsey, giving a clue as to what he meant by 'universal language'. Becoming slightly more serious, "Besides, last time I was in Shanghai, a lot of dem spoke English or French. Weren't no problem..."

Motoko heard someone yell and she frowned. She knocked with her foot again. "Um, pardon me?" she called, not bothering to watch her accent any more. "Is anyone there?" she called again.

"Lady wit a sword?! Whoa! Cool!" A small boy, maybe seven or eight, ran into the foyer in his sock feet. He skidded and lost traction when he hit the polished hardwood of the entry hallway and slid right through Kitty, coming up hard against the oak of the front door. His body, squished up against the door, looked like it was starting to melt--his limbs turning into puddles. Shaking his head, his body regained solidity and he stood up. "Why don't you open up the door?" He didn't wait for her reply but pulled open the heavy door to admit the cool lady with the sword.

Kitty quickly backed away from the door. She then realized how fearful this made her look, so she took an awkward step forward. A nervous smile spread across her face and she said, "Hiya. I'm Kitty and... umm... This is Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Can I, Can I... help you?" She wondered then if she was supposed to bow. But then what if this woman wasn't Japanese, but Japanese-American? She didn't want to appear racist. Kitty made a short bow, and turned this into a possible handshake. Her hand stuck out straight in the air. She stared at the woman with a is this right? look.

Storm Blackbird Shanghai, China
Storm smiled a little at the question about translation. "Unfortunately, this isn't Star Trek. But, Shanghai is a very cosmopolitan city. They have many, many tourists, so we shouldn't stand out too badly. It would be completely different if we were in the Interior of China itself."
She assisted Jean with locating the suitable landing spot, turning on the cloak and bringing in the jet to a soft landing. The roof gave a little under the sudden weight, but held. She began the post-flight checks.
She looked over at Jean, "How do you want us to do this? Together? In pairs?"

Xiao Research facility Shanghai, China
Xiao saw Vivien get grabbed by the guard. She watched on approvingly as the woman dealt with the men rather decisively.
Another guard appeared from outside. She brought up her darts and sent it toward the man. One problem with her powers was that it was an area effect. She'd catch Vivien in it for sure, and she simply wasn't mercenary enough (a character flaw to be sure) to do it anyway.
She caught the guy just above the collar bone, right into the trapezius. He brought his gun up. Blood flow took the dart's contents right to the brain. He barely twitched a finger on the trigger before his eyes rolled into his head and he folded.
Unfortunately, seeing the guards being attacked, made the panicked crowd fall back. That was easily dealt with. She formed a small Shadow behind them. Those that were retreating, fell into in and began to yell and scream. They ran back out, pushing into the others, pushing them through the door.
Xiao moved forward, next to Vivien, "Let's go. I've got a hiding place where we can stay."

Motoko saw the door open, and saw a small boy and a woman backing away from the door.
Motoko couldn't help but giggle when the girl called Kitty bowed to her. She took her hand and grinned. "Preasure to meet you, Kitty. I'm Motoko Yui. I was going to interview Mr. Ramsey for the New York Times, but he said he was busy, but that I courd find him here. I see I am in the right prace after arr," she said, her accent turning all of her 'l's into 'r's. She gave Kitty a sideways glance. "Pardon my up-front-ness, but wourd you mind maybe... retting me ask you a few questions about the schoor?"
She looked down at the boy while she waited for Kitty to answer and grinned at him. Then she looked back up at Kitty.

The little boy grinned back and rudely interrupted, "Hey lady, you ok? Why you talkin all funny like that? Can I see your sword? Do you kill people with it?"
Jean "Let's stay together...." Jean touched her temple absently, "I can feel them....there's a lot of them, something familiar..." She trailed off as she led them off the roofotop and down the block to a complex of warehouses. At first glance, this set looked just as dilapidated as the rest, but a practice eye could make out the faint signs of habitation. In the alleyway where they stopped, there were several biohazard bins. The doors facing the alleyway were all brand new, contrasting with the dinginess of the structure around them. As they neared, the faint sound of klaxons drifted over the breeze. "This is the place, I'm sure of it."
Gambit "Dis a big setup....might be bigger dan we can handle, just the five of us. How many sentinel you t'ink dey got in dere?" Gambit looked skeptically at the side of the largest warehouse, which rivaled the mansion for size. "I don't gotta enough cards for dat many sentinels."
Vivien
The guard who knew eskrima, his eyes rolled back in his head, he fell to the floor and starting jerking violently. Vivien looked at Shadow in surprise. Then she followed her out. She started to nod, willing to accept Shadow's offer of shelter, but something down the alleyway that they'd stepped into caught her eye. "What's that?" She pointed into the darkness.

“That does look like a big set up, but the x-men can handle anything in there” Bobby said in a confidant tone. “What’s our plan of action, Jean?” he asked ready & willing. Tag Jean, anyone>
Dade momentarily turned his head away from the bad breath that was filling his nostrils, “I Hoped you wouldn’t do this” he said looking sabretooth in the eye with a slightly angry look on his face, he then suddenly sank his teeth into sabretooth’s face whilst kneeing him in the hip as hard as possible, hoping sabretooth would release his grip. The incessant buzz of the klaxons grew louder as a door down the alleyway was flung open. The interior light spilled out along with two slender figures. Their thoughts, suddenly distinct from the crowd inside the door, broadcast loudly as they exited. Their recent memories rebounded down the alleyway, echoing blood and panic. She gasped and struggled to organize the sudden flood of thoughts. One of the women's thoughts...yes, they were both women...one's thoughts were much louder, token of a weak, untrained psyche. The other woman's thoughts tapered off into a curious darkness. It took mere seconds to sort through the borrowed images...Jean turned to the team and spoke grimly, "Sabretooth is here...and Sentinels."

((is it too much right now to ask someone to draw out like in MS Paint a quick map of where everyone is?)) Blackbird Dr. Ramsey cocked a brow, looking to Storm, who was closest. " 'oo's Sabretooth?" He asked, "Pro'bly too much to assume 'e's friendleh?" He grabbed his coat, then thought better of it. Chances are I'll need freedom of movement. Things meit get hairy in a tic... <tag Storm> Inside the facility Sabretooth howled and roared like a lion, hurling the man around confusedly. Stumbling back, but keeping his grip on the man's clothes. "MY FACE!! YOU BIT MY PRETTY FACE!!" he bellowed, digging his claws into the Scientist's chest for better grip. He felt his talons pierce the man's soft flesh, and warm blood cover his fingertips, like magic. Regaining his footing, Creed reared back and flung the man into his own sculpture, hoping to shatter, or crumble, or something, the Graven Image.
