"The professor will handle it, if it comes to it, he can simply erase her memory...it's just sometimes that tends to cause further inquiry. Ramsey, you understand why we're all so protective of the school....some of those children don't have anywhere else to go and like Gambit said, they can't hide their abilities."
Gambit passed the first aid kit to Dade Jackson. His gaze then followed Ramsey's gesturing to his ex-wife.
Not what I'd call a problem... He couldn't make out much of her figure under the loose, dirty scrubs. But her thickly lashed jewel-blue eyes...
He looked back at Ramsey and felt a little sympathy. Gambit had an ex-wife too--though no one knew that. He'd been forced away from his own wife, and often regretted it. Why give something like that up, if you didn't have to?
He thought back to the confrontation in the alley...Ramsey had protected her....
He grinned appreciatively at Vivien, "Enchante, cherie."
He cut a glance back at Ramsey, waiting for his reaction.

Vivien looked up suddenly, hearing spoken French. She canted her head in interest and spoke to Gambit, "Parlez-vous français ?" When he nodded and grinned back at her she continued, "Ma mère est française."
They continued conversing in French.

Blackbird Dade took the first aid box from a distracted gambit “Thanks” He said barely loud enough for gambit to hear, he began cleaning the now dry blood from his chest whiles he listened to the ongoing conversation “This is beginning to fell like a soap opera” he thought to himself, He decided to switched off until someone spoke to him directly & the ongoing chatter just became background noise. Ooc: just so you know I will probably disappear for days at a time now, until after Christmas.

Storm Blacbird
Storm reached out and patted Gambit's hand consolingly, "I'm sorry. I doubt it will be easier despite anyone seeing to it."
She looked down, ""But whatever you put on it...the area is numb." She gave a wan smile, "the only part of me that is not hurting. I do not mind in the slightest if you want to continue...I will just try and be still."
She leaned her head back, hearing the ensuing tirade. It was almost cliché, the pen is still mightier than the sword. After facing off a sentinel, the reporter was putting people off their stride.
******************** Xavier XSFGY
Xavier stared at Mokoto for a moment. "Yes, I know we've asked you some questions several times, but mainly because this doesn't make much sense, if you are here only as a reporter."
"Well, this misunderstanding is easily rectified. I teach young children with a rather wide range of ages. Some of my oldest are particularly bright and are curious about the sociological and psychological ramifications and implications involved in the mutant scare."
"Some have even begun to make correlations to the McCarthy acts in the past. I saw no need to limit their exploration and invited Dr. Ramsey to give a series of lectures on the subject, with a few exercises appropriate for their ages."
"That is why he is here. I'd be happy to forward his lesson plans to you, if you're interested."
"Now, if there is nothing more..." he called over the house intercom, "Wolverine, would you please escort our visitor to her car...and the gate."
He turned back to Mokoto, "If you wish to interview him, I will insist that you set up an appointment. I will not have unauthorized visits with the children here. You do understand? It is for their safety and is a common practice for almost every school in the country."
"He is away right now, but I'm sure you can reach him by phone or email."
"If you have nothing else to add..."

Motoko nodded. "Actuarry sir, I was wondering if it wourdn't be too much troubre for me to ask you a few more in-depth questions right now, such as your connections with the group referred to as the X-Men? If you wourd prefer I can set up an appointment for another time," she said, trying to clear her mind of all stray thoughts. Such as the prospect of having to eat cold take-out for dinner again, or the fact that Miranda would ring her neck if she came back empty handed again. She was being pushy enough to make her boss proud though, so she doubted she'd be killed upon immediate arrival back to the office.

((man, galenty, i love the way xavier's using his lesser-known powers of Damage Control and Spin))
Blackbird, Atlantic
Dr. Ramsey knew what Gambit was doing. It was interesting how he was trying to simultaneously mack on his ex-wife and irritate him. Of course, it was working. He hated how easily this smooth-talking Cajun could do what he was doing. Does he nae have a thing going on with Anne-Marie? Of course, that probably dinna' mean a thing to him. Nice southern lass, she is. An' he's her type, too, an unkempt scoundrel...
<tag Vivien, Gambit>
He stopped that train of thought, realizing he was glowering out of the corner of his eye. He spun his chair around (I'm establishing we have spinny chairs. probably have locks on them.) and addressed Labcoat Guy.
"Ah'm sorry, but did ye ever tell us who ye are?" He smiled warmly, his fake psychologist smile he put on when he was trying to make someone feel more comfortable divulging information.

Blackbird Lab coat guy (I love that lol) looked up at Malcolm, the smile he had on his face did somehow make Dade fell more comfortable, "I'm Dade" . "I don't think I got any of your names either... Apart from this lovely lady’s, Vivien wasn’t it?" he added with a charming smile of his own trying to make her feel less hostile towards him. Tag Dr. Ramsey, Vivien, anyone>

Xavier XSFGY
"Actually, I don't think you are understanding what I'm saying. Perhaps it is a professional failing at work here. So, I'll be blunt."
"If you are here as a reporter, I have nothing to say regarding any supposed connection to whatever these X-men might be. I don't require an appointment because I won't be changing that opinion any time soon, if ever." He gestured to the wheelchair, "I'm afraid that this limits my capacity to things largely academic."
He steepled his fingers in front of him, "As a psychologist myself, I have learned that groups operate on a Us-Them basis. If you don't belong, you are Them, and aren't trusted until you establish yourself otherwise. I would hypothesize that if you wish to interrogate them, you provide them a reason other than 'it's your job.'
"Now unless you have something else to add, I have a great deal of paperwork to do. I have many papers to grade; the students are waiting anxiously for them. So, I'll bid you a good day."
Xavier was a little impatient. He'd spent more than enough time on this. The woman had heard of him, but seemed to have little actual data on the school, or its residents. And while he appreciated a person working for a living, reporters seemed to revel in making inequitable exchanges of information, especially when it involved secrets that could destroy lives. He'd be sure to monitor her for a while.
He sent to Wolverine: ***Advise the team to give advanced notice before landing. I want to make sure the coast is clear.***
To both Wolverine and Kitty ***She seems to want information, like most reporters. I'm not obliged to provide the means of destroying the school so she can get a pay check. I want you to be certain she is off the premises when she leaves.***
Xavier had hoped the woman would be more forthcoming. Did she really expect him, or anyone, to admit to their involvement as a mutant, to any stranger that walked through their door. Granted, he had options, but the woman was doing her level best to provide inane thoughts to block anything of substance.
He could, of course, break through, but it might alert her to the intrusion, depending on her mental acuity. Still, it was never his way to force his way. If the woman was looking for something more, she would have to say so. Otherwise, cold take-out was all she could expect. ************

(Well, despite his 'warm' welcome to mutants, the word reporter probably creates uneasy feelings. Did mean to, but he'd protect his students above all costs, I think. Did I come down too hard?)

Xavier's Mansion
Wolverine spoke into the comm device, "Jean, don't come near the mansion until we get this reporter outta here. That is, if you're anywhere near here." He walked back upstairs to escort Motoko out. Shame, he thought. Kitty really seemed to like her. He entered the room the Professor, Motoko, and Kitty were in. "You ready to go or you got more to say?" Wolverine said to Motoko.

Blackbird, over Atlantic"Apart from this lovely lady’s, Vivien wasn’t it?" he added with a charming smile of his own trying to make her feel less hostile towards him. Malcolm looked back at Vivien, following Jackson's gaze. She was continuing to speak in French. He leaned towards her in his chair and said, "Ah fergot ye spoke French, Viv. Ghastly language," he added with a grin. Noting he had also gotten Gambit's attention, he glanced at him, saying with sarcastic politeness, "Oi Cajun. Do ye think ye can speak in English, ye kin, th' language ev'ryone else in the plane speaks, the noo?" <tag Gambit, Vivien>

"Jean, don't come near the mansion until we get this reporter outta here. That is, if you're anywhere near here."
Storm sighed, glancing over at Jean, before looking at the fuel gauges. "We've literally just flown to the other side of the planet and back. Fuel will probably last a little while, but not for any extended period of time."
She sat back, half-hearing the challenging 'banter' between Gambit and Ramsey. The team always seemed to have two people most likely to get on each others' nerves. Normally, she would let it pass, but she was hurting enough that it grated.
Breathing deeply, to control her feelings, she asked Jean, "There is a clearing near the school. Where that development project was supposed to go? The one that the Professor swears did nothing to squash the licensing...
